FORMA | Architectural project

Based on the identity and memory of the city of Rio de Janeiro, ARCHITECTS OFFICE SP designs FORMA.

The concept developed for the new BAIT Incorporadora project sought its two striking starting points in the identity and memory of the effervescent social fabric of Rio de Janeiro: Geological time, with mountains and rocks that characterize the city's natural landscape. And the time of art, recalling the significant influence of samba in the formation of Rio de Janeiro society. The history of the land also provided us with inspiration when we discovered its importance to the city, previously inhabited by “Plataforma”, a meeting point for Tom Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes and other great names in Brazilian music.

The building, which is constituted as an urban rock, with stones and blocks cut into the side gables, articulates an intentional dialogue with the living environment and the sedimented land is incorporated as a celebration. Musicality is also evoked, and terraces, partitions and vertical elements in rhythmic juxtaposition compose a single-note samba on the front and back facades.

The architecture brings authenticity, as it exalts the Rio de Janeiro lifestyle, with a public promenade inviting people to enjoy the coastal city and this movement enters the building, presenting an open ground floor planned as a store. On the Common Use Floor, common areas are extensions of the FORMA house, permeated by a unique pool that connects living spaces and reveals paths.

The residential studios follow the philosophy of best use and encourage the phenomenology of living and its intrinsic needs for change, customization and new uses. By being designed as modules, it is possible to join units and expand spaces, giving autonomy over the home. The penthouse was gifted with duplex apartments of four different modules, giving the appearance of a single-story house, and private pools and large terraces crown the creation.

The harmony of the FORMA project echoes between architecture and urbanism, expressing the natural and sensual beauty of the city and enhancing its history with the unique style developed by ARCHITECTS OFFICE SP.

FORMA | Interior design

The diversity of living is embraced through signs and elements intrinsic to the Rio de Janeiro landscape in the interior design of FORMA, thus composing its rhythmic and naturalistic poetics.

The concept focuses on shapes, colors and textures of the natural surroundings to house them within the common areas and residential units, highlighting the organic lines in the furniture, rugs and other items, in contrast to the rectilinear architectural design; revealing points of earthy, blue and greenish colors seen on the horizon and articulated through decorative objects, tropical landscaping and etc.; and the use of materials that evoke their natural state, with rustic and true textures.

The creation brings integrated and flexible spaces, which can be seen in the diverse typologies designed to encompass new contemporary ways of living, aligned with the desires and needs of our time, giving autonomy over the space, its uses and ways of life.

The interior design, under the aegis of being carioca, manifests style, movement and nature in every detail.
